If you are looking for a romantic spot for your engagement photos in New Orleans, Longue Vue House and Gardens needs to be on your list. It is tucked away right outside of the city, filled with gorgeous gardens, beautiful architecture, and so many little spots to explore throughout your session.


Basically, you get a TON of variety without ever having to leave one location.


A Romantic Little Escape in New Orleans

One of my favorite things about Longue Vue is that it doesn't really feel like you are in the middle of New Orleans.


Once you walk into the gardens, everything feels a little quieter and more private. Instead of worrying about cars, busy streets, or a million people walking through the background of your photos, you get to wander around the property together.


And there are so many different backdrops! Between the gardens, greenery, pathways, fountains, stairs, and the gorgeous historic home, we can make your engagement gallery feel super varied while still keeping everything cohesive.


Perfect if You Want That Garden Feel

If you have been saving engagement photos with lots of greenery, flowers, romantic gardens, and a slightly more elevated feel, this is such a good option.


Longue Vue gives you that manicured garden look while still having plenty of space for the more playful photos, too. You don't have to spend your entire session standing perfectly posed in front of the gardens. We can walk around, explore, dance, laugh, and actually make the session feel like the two of you.


Plus, depending on the season, the gardens are always going to look a little different!


So... How Much Does It Cost to Take Engagement Photos at Longue Vue?

This is the biggest difference between choosing Longue Vue and somewhere like City Park or a neighborhood around New Orleans.


Longue Vue House and Gardens does require you to reserve the property for professional photography. Photo reservations currently start at $150 for one hour.


While it is an additional cost to consider when planning your engagement session, you're paying for access to a beautifully maintained property and gardens specifically during your reserved time. If you already know you love the look of Longue Vue, I think that can make it completely worth considering!

What Should You Wear?

Longue Vue is one of those locations where you can have a little extra fun with your outfits.


Think flowy dresses, romantic fabrics, fun sleeves, a little bit of color, or even something slightly dressier than you would normally wear. Because the gardens and architecture are already so beautiful, outfits with movement photograph so well here.


You can absolutely keep things casual if that feels more like you, but if you have been looking for an excuse to wear the dress you've had saved on Pinterest... this might be it!

If you want your engagement photos to feel romantic, colorful, a little elevated, and still like the two of you, I would absolutely put Longue Vue House and Gardens on your list.
