Why Flowy Outfits Make Your New Orleans City Park Engagement Photos Feel More Romantic

If you are trying to decide what to wear for your engagement photos, here is my biggest tip! Wear something that moves!

Whether it's a flowy dress, a maxi skirt, a linen button-up, or a dress that flares out at the bottom, movement instantly adds a softer, more romantic feel to your photos. Instead of every image feeling still, your outfit becomes part of the story as it catches the breeze while you walk, spin, or dance together.

One of my favorite places for this is City Park in New Orleans. Between the giant oak trees, open paths, and little pockets of sunlight, a dress that flows with your movement photographs beautifully. Even the smallest breeze can make your photos feel effortless and full of life.

For this City Park engagement session, she wore the most beautiful dress that was the perfect example of this. The fitted dress stopped around mid-thigh, while the layer of tulle flowed all the way to the ground. Every time they walked hand in hand, or she twirled, the fabric floated behind her, adding so much movement and romance to their photos. It photographed beautifully beneath the oak trees and made even the simplest moments feel effortlessly elegant.

When you are picking out your engagement session outfit, don't be afraid to choose something with a little movement. It doesn't have to be over the top, but just enough to catch the breeze and create those soft, natural moments that make your gallery feel alive. Sometimes it's the little details, like a flowing dress, that make the biggest difference.
